Rival Team

It is called Rival Team (ライバルチーム), to the teams that have hostility against the main team of the tournament in the different games of The King of Fighters.

Teams[]

As the name implies, this team is created to act as rivals of the Hero Team, or against a specific character and / or team. The team is made up, for the most part, of characters that are important to some arc story or game series. After (and during) each saga, teams receive the following nomenclatures.

Orochi Saga[]

Yagami Team (Main Team of the Saga). Team destined to take revenge on some of this year's tournament participants. It is made up of Iori Yagami who has a rivalry with Kyo Kusanagi, Eiji Kisaragi who is practically in a rivalry with Ryo Sakazaki and with his entire clan who practices these martial arts and Billy Kane who has a rivalry with Terry Bogard for past events with Geese Howard in the Fatal Fury saga. In the other formations of his team, apart from those formed with Mature and Vice, it can be assumed that the dissolution of the team was on somewhat amicable terms.

Ash Saga[]

Elisabeth Team (Main Team of the Saga). Team formed by Elisabeth Blanctorche who plans to stop Ash Crimson for not carrying out his original plan to protect the Three Sacred Treasures, Benimaru Nikaido and Duo Lon seek to help Elisabeth in this act, from The King of Fighters XI this team only derives the Elisabeth Team in The King of Fighters XIII replacing Shen Woo with Benimaru and he returns to the Legendary Japan Team.
