
The King of Fighters: The NESTS Saga cover
The NESTS Saga also called the NESTS Bow, Second Bow or even The King of Fighters 2, is the set of games focused on the second plot of The King of Fighters franchise.
The saga's first game, The King of Fighters '99, was released on July 22, 1999. Featuring a new generation of protagonists, with the main character being K'.
All games in this saga have the name "The King of Fighters" followed by a year ('99, 2000, etc.), with '99 being the last of the 90s. It has three games telling the story of the saga and the fourth. The King of Fighters 2002, as an end-of-arc Dream Match.
Former SNK produced the games until The King of Fighters 2000, after the bankruptcy the franchise fell into the hands of Korean company Eolith which produced The King of Fighters 2001 and 2002 causing a sharp drop in quality in the franchise and negatively affecting the saga's final stretch NESTS. Where as 2001 was already considered by many to be the worst KOF, but 2002 still managed to be a highly acclaimed game.
Story[]
Following the fight against Orochi, a mysterious group called NESTS obtained the DNA of the missing Kyo Kusanagi and began various cloning plans to take over the world.
The new protagonist, K', who for some reason is able to manipulate the Kusanagi clan flames, alongside his partner Maxima, will find out more about his past involving the evil group and along with other characters like Whip and Kula Diamond will Fight to get your freedom.
