Ikari Warriors Team

The Ikari Team or also known as Ikari Warriors Team or the Brazil team, is a group that brings together the two main characters of the Ikari Warriors video game. It was composed by Ralf Jones, Clark Still and Heidern and made his first debut at KOF '94. After KOF '95 Heidern leaves the team so that his adopted daughter Leona Heidern could join the team and would not return until KOF '98, 2001. Later Whip joined in KOF '99 and 2000, and later was introduced to KOF XI.

Story[]

Orochi Saga[]

The King of Fighters '94 and '95[]

The Ikari Warriors team dates back to the time of the first The King of Fighters tournament, in which Heidern founded a group of mercenaries. Along with Ralf Jones and Clark Still they enter 1994 tournament to find Rugal Bernstein. Before the explosion of the Blacknoad Heidern and his men give him up for dead, but Heidern would suspect the apparent death of Rugal Bernstein until 1995 in which it is confirmed that the crime tycoon was still alive but this time by increasing his energies with power of Orochi. They participate in tournaments representing Brazil.

The King of Fighters '96 and '97[]

In the following years Heidern is replaced by his adopted daughter Leona Heidern, a girl who was found by the officer since he went on a mission to find bodies because of a massacre in his village. She was basically trained by Heidern and joins up with her two teammates. They would closely follow the events taken in the tournaments organized by Chizuru Kagura without going deep into the Orochi topic. Leona was also frankly introduced to Orochi's plot, as she suffered like Iori Yagami the blood disturbance (at the hands of Goenitz, as revenge for Gaidel didn't help bring Orochi back to life) and ended up killing all his loved ones and his own family. Since then she becomes more serious and lonely when these events happen.

In 1997 Leona and her friends reappear, however they did not count on Leona Heidern and Iori Yagami using the Riot of the Blood again this time by the New Faces Team to attack the other participants, the 3 Sacred Treasures and their own companions, in order to increase energies so that Orochi is released by the 3 kings. At the end of the tournament after the defeat of Orochi, Leona decides to commit suicide since she could not control what happened to her years ago, but from heaven Gaiden tells her not to face her destiny with what had happened to her. She accepted and Ralf with Clark also encouraged her. This team has an alternate group the Old Hero Team. With a filler scene where she appears instead of Leona, she is nothing more than Athena Asamiya.

The group of these years also appears in 1998 and Heidern as part of the Master Team, but they had no progress and it is only Dream Match.

NESTS Saga[]

The King of Fighters '99[]

Under the new established rules of the tournament that specified 4 members, a new member named Whip would join the team. While Heidern from his base would take control over his team and discover an attempt of world conquest on the part of Krizalid using hundreds of clones of Kyo Kusanagi. Team Ikari locates the clones and neutralizes them. Whip was looking for answers to Krizalid and from there it is discovered that all the memories of K' were in his head (Mentioning that Krizalid is his brother and K' the clone).

The King of Fighters 2000 and 2001[]

In 2000 the four heroes return to action with Heidern watching over them at the base, but out of nowhere a soldier named Ling appears saying that there was no problem with them discovering that he uses the KOF only in order to obtain energy for a cannon called Cannon. Zero, first they point their weapons at Heidern so that no one suspects him and this as a mockery tells him that he is only a talker and he is the one who does the right thing.

In the finals, after the soldiers have defeated the Anti-K (a genetic clone of K' who turned out to be Kula Diamond, for the purpose of eliminating K') Ling reveals to the Ikari that Zero was Ling instead and reveals that all the plans of his cannon are only to destroy the world and NESTS (which also betrays the cartel) for which it was the fact that he used the KOF for his purposes of his satellite weapon. Thus the four defeat him and Zero was defeated, but he did not allow himself to admit his defeat and commits his plan; when he depressed the cannon Zero saw that two NESTS agents left perplexed to see that their plans were foiled by Kula and the laser from the cannon hits Zero and he eventually dies. Subsequently, Whip she wanted to get answers from Zero and she wanted to kill him with his weapon but they call him and the boss dies. Then she disappears leaving a video where she would explain the reason for his departure and then the team would begin an investigation against the NESTS cartel.

In 2001, due to the sudden departure of Whip, Heidern would return to the team following the rule of the 4 fighters, together they defeat Igniz the true leader of the NESTS cartel who wanted to become God and revealing that Whip is also a NESTS android, and previously to the real Zero who recognized that the previous boss was only his Clone. In the end they see how Kula befriends Whip and both collaborate with the K' Team after the disappearance of the Cartel. K9999 had possibly assassinated some soldiers of the Ikari Warriors in order to avoid detection. This is how in the Maximum Impact where they try to find fugitive clones, after the Cartel had already been disbanded.

In 2002 the team is again composed of the three previous members without Heidern, or Whip. Although the first appears in the credits seeing how Rugal's ship explodes. In his updated version Heidern returns to the Master Team.

Ash Saga[]

The King of Fighters 2003[]

In 2003 Ralf, Clark and Leona, are back in action to investigate who is the host of the tournament in that year, by order of Chin who apparently feels an evil presence. However by defeating Mukai (Member of a group called Those from the Past and herald of Orochi) who has weakened the Orochi seal, Leona has returned with the blood riot and attacks her two companions leaving them unconscious.

The King of Fighters XI[]

Whip was credited as Leona's replacement (since Heidern was afraid that Leona would return to the blood riot), Shion and Magaki are the tournament organizers who had intentions to revive Orochi, but it got out of control when Shion disappeared into another world and Magaki is killed by Shion. That's when the K' Team had to collect Magaki's body and take it to the Ikari Warriors.

Ralf and his group have Magaki's body with Heidern, while Kula with her K' Team friends encourages Whip (recovering part of her emotions) and apparently everyone including Kula whose hair shines, sensed that something bad is happening.

At that moment, 2 girls from Those from the Past appear who were looking for Magaki's inert body, but as expected, they both took the body and, incidentally, they left a surprise that it was an explosion on a ship. The warriors survived the destruction of the ship.

The King of Fighters XIII[]

The Ikari are back with Leona to investigate Saiki, since Adelheid (Rugal's son) forced the Ikari to investigate the tournament because her sister Rose organizes it without knowing the intentions of said event (in reality Rose was manipulated by Botan). In addition, Leona already controls her Orochi powers without losing her mind.

Another Day[]

It is the only team that participated in the OVA Another Day, here they tried to find the clones of Kyo and they had all the data of their creator. In addition to that they captured an image of "a clone" during the city fire. K' and Maxima obtain all the information and discover them, on the train Ralf, Clark and Leona battle with the team taking them as the people in charge of the scientist, K' and Maxima distract them by jumping to another train in the opposite direction, while Ralf observes Kula and Whip and it is not known what happened to them.

In EP-4 the three soldiers even suspected that Kyo is a clone and wanted to kill him (After Alba got upset with Kyo when she saw him with the same flames, and related them to the fire in the city). Iori Yagami arrives to clear up the misunderstanding and stops them. After the fire has been extinguished, Ralf asked Kyo Kusanagi if it really is the real one, but with the fire that Kyo brings out, he tells them that he can give them their tests.

The King of Fighters XIV[]

The group is again made up of Leona, Ralf and Clark. Now Ralf Jones makes his somewhat similar leading debut in The King of Fighters XI. Possibly they have come to investigate again about this tournament.

This along with the Japan Team are the ones who have the role of outstanding stories in the game.
It is said that in The King of Fighters 2000 he was going to have another ending in which Whip would shoot Zero with his weapon after he did not tell him the answers to his plan. Perhaps this part was censored in other versions, because it was considered somewhat violent to the fans.
It is the only team to appear in the Another Day series.
He had two undercover teams: First with the K' Team and then with the Agents Team.
